We have decided to take our always playful education, advocacy, and outreach to the streets! Once a month during the summer (twice in August!) we will host three hours of demonstrations, and discussions about different aspects of personal energy conservation. Your transportation choices are the single biggest energy choice you make!!!! Treat yourself to learn more about choices that are available. Day One"Technical Symposium on Vehicle To Grid Power" Monday, June 6, 2005, 1:00pm to 4:30pm, Bertha Landes Room, City Hall, Seattle WA - 600 Fourth Avenue South (entrance on Fifth Avenue) A panel of experts will thoroughly cover vehicle-to-grid power at a technical level. Planned topics include: comparison of plug-in hybrid with battery vehicles, new sources of clean power in the Pacific Northwest, modular factories for small-volume vehicle manufacturing, the economics of V2G to support renewable energy policy and implementation strategies, and a brief hands-on tutorial for calculating basic V2G power and price parameters. The presentations will be interspersed with questions and discussion with the audience. David Kerrigan, City of Seattle Fleet Manager, will talk about his experiences incorporating biodiesel into use by City fleets including costs, engine performance and obstacles to overcome. Attendance is not restricted to AWEP members, nor even to women. 13th Annual Greenwood Classic Car and Rod Showand NW Biodiesel Network BBQ/Potluck! 10 AM - 4 PM For 12 years the Greenwood Classic Car and Rod Show has attracted more than 20,000 visitors to Greenwood Avenue every summer. Seattleās biggest showcase of cars across the Northwest, more than 500 cars will line the streets of Greenwood Avenue, from N. 72th to N. 90th, with bands, food vendors and craft booths. The show is free and open to the public. Our booth will be at 78th and Greenwood- the potluck party will be right down the street! Georgetown Street Party(last minute posting) July 2nd - We are seeking some volunteers to table the "Street Party and Alternative Transportation Expo" in Georgetown on Saturday afternoon July 2. Doors will be open from 3pm to 7pm on Saturday afternoon. Outside music and entertainment will run during the full hours of the event. Entrance to the event is at the intersection of S. Vale St at Airport Way S. to 12 Ave S. and 12 Ave S to S. Bailey St, west of All City Coffee in Georgetown. Seattle citizens are coming together for the first annual Independence from Oil Day Parade on July 3rd.(from the website on this event, at http://www.independencefromoil.org/ ) Join the first annual Independence from Oil Day Parade. On July 3rd Seattle citizens will converge on Volunteer Park for an officially unofficial parade. Banners flying, we will fill the roads with alternative modes of transport, from unicycles to solar cars to advocate for a sustainable energy policy. Our primary concern is to raise awareness of the environmental and economic risks associated with our continued consumption of fossil fuels and to promote the use of alternative energy sources as a step toward real independence from oil.
Several organizations from the Biodiesel - active community will be present. There will be an organizational meeting on the event on Tuesday, June 21st @ 6:30 PM The meeting will be held in Gould Hall (University of Washington) 3949 15th Ave East.

There will be round table discussions on topics like "How to Get Your Kids to Eat Good Food" and "Following Your Passions in Your Working Life": examples of people who made the change from a passionless job to making their vision come true. Cooking demo's and of course a Kid's Corner. Northwest Biodiesel will be there both presenting and with a booth.
Annual Greenwood Car Show a big success! This was a very well trafficked event. Many people wanted to know where to get Biodiesel, or had just purchased a diesel and recently starting running Biodiesel. Great weather and about 10 blocks of beautiful cars. Shoreline Solar Project's 2nd Annual Renewable Energy Fair happened Saturday, June 4th. What a great day!! Lots of people kept us busy answering questions about biodiesel. "An Event to Support Kyoto Seattle" was well attended by many local transportation related organizations on June 1. NW Biodiesel's Aaron Kahn and Dr. Dan Freeman spoke to the crowd extolling the virtues of using Biodiesel. Breathable Bus and French Fry Fools were also in attendance, and fielded a steady stream of questions from people.
